James Visits Halloween Festivities9.11.40am UTC (GMT +0000) Mon 12th Nov 2007
James had a fantastic time at the Ripon Halloween Festivities in the Market Square in Ripon.
"The event was superbly organised. There was a very happy atmosphere with everyone young and old enjoying themselves. Both myself and Councillor Bernard Bateman had a go at juggling, on my behalf without much success!" "I congratulate Ripon Independent Traders Association who organised the event. This is an example of what society should be about. "I made sure that I introduced myself to all of the local stall holders, all of whom were local business people. I listened to what they had to say about how they thought Ripon could be even more successful than it already is. I was very interested to hear a range of views about the need for improved transport links with York, the potential for more festivals and the re-enforced request by some about the lack of parking. I am very keen to open a debate on how Ripon can be further improved. I know from the past year of visiting the City and meeting the people of Ripon, it is a wonderful City. I will keep on working hard with my fellow Liberal Democrats to shout up loud and proud for Ripon."
